New exhibition in October 2024
05th January 2024 - 0 comments
I and my husband Javier are having an exhibition in October, in our gallery - Burnside in Selkirk.
Letter from Home
We all have strongly imprinted memories of home; for me it's the playing with stones and plants on the river bank or the garden or the wood - and the strange sight of the dry stone dykes sinuously winding up the hills and the Forestry Commission trees showing almost black hurtling down the hill like steam trains.
I'm showing oils and watercolours.
And Javier is showing the Borders and Andalucia in cyanotypes, albumin and silver gelatinous prints.

Hope to see you there.

Solo gallery
06th February 2023 - 0 comments
The Solo gallery is in Innerleithen and I'm proud to say, has some of my work displayed in the window.

The gallery has a very nice feeling - generated by Kate Hayes who has art magazines, poetry and jewellery as well as paintings.

Thank you very much to her.

These are for my brother.

Paeonies
07th July 2020 - 0 comments
My neighbour, Catherine gave me, very generously, a sheaf of soft paeonies. I know they're usually spelt peonies, but I like the old fashioned spelling.
They were soaked in the rain and looked like a bride's flowers.

The quietness is going

This spring and early summer have been emotional; and linked to the rhythms of the weather and plants.

Apparently Tom Scott drew this hill; a wonderful Border watercolour artist.

Javier and I have been happily working away repairing an old cottage in Yarrow for the past year and a half, and let our practise drift - but now with the Spring coming - back to work!

Clive Gregson
03rd February 2020 - 0 comments
Clive Gregson (ex 'Any Trouble') is releasing an album a month for his last year touring. He's an excellent singer songwriter I think.
He commissioned me to design a poster for his solo tour, and a poster for Raggeddy Ass the band he's formed with ex-Barclay James Harvest members.

T-shirts and totes
30th January 2020 - 0 comments
My brother Andy told me about a company on the Isle of Wight that do organic renewable totes and teeshirts printed on demand in a renewable energy powered factory. So I signed up and now have plenty of designs to show.
If you're interested, they're in a drop-down menu from Cards.

Half dried flowers

My friend Fiona brought us a great sheaf of flowers in Summer; I painted the peony then forgot about it; by the time I remembered the flowers had all dried to a much more interesting composition.

...the first drawing session of 2019 for me

I moved out of the studio and into the Borders at the end of August, so since then I've been painting everything except canvas...
